Biography

Aurelia, a French-Dutch national who has been based in Brussels for nearly 20 years, graduated from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands with a degree in English language and literature (2007). She has worked for over 10 years in diplomacy (notably at the French and British embassies) and in European and Belgian public affairs, focusing on a wide range of advocacy issues such as social security, workers’ rights, and copyright.

In 2019, she shifted her focus to environmental and climate issues, starting with the recycling of household packaging at Fost Plus, the Belgian extended producer responsibility organization. Then, in 2022, she joined the NGO Bellona Europe as advocacy director and later as deputy director. She works on a variety of climate issues, particularly industrial decarbonization, power grids, CCS, and CO₂ disposal.

In 2025, she became the head of public affairs at Opportunity Green (a London-based NGO) and director of its Brussels office. She also leads the SASHA Coalition’s advocacy efforts on decarbonizing air and maritime transport through electrification and e-fuels.
