Biography

A graduate of the École Normale Supérieure (Master’s degree in fundamental physics, ENS, 2007), and later a Ph.D. in experimental quantum physics (University of Paris XI, 2011), Julien is a seasoned researcher who, for nine years, has explored quantum and statistical phenomena in France, Chile, the United States, Switzerland, Brazil, Japan, and Germany.

Infected by the “environmental bug,” starting in 2016, he conducted several studies on the impacts of salmon farms in Chilean Patagonia, including one that contradicted the Chilean Academy of Sciences regarding the massive ecological and social crisis of 2016 by demonstrating the likely influence of industrial pollution.

In 2018, he joined the International Energy Agency for four years as an analyst specializing in renewable hydrogen, synthetic fuels, transportation, and industry, and co-authored 10 reports there. He has also served as a technical expert for the World Bank, an independent consultant for NGOs and corporations, and teaches courses on hydrogen at the École des Ponts. In 2025, he co-founded Climate House.
