On November 24, we officially launched the Climate Tech Observatory at the Climate House, an iconic venue dedicated to innovation for the green transition.
The theme of our first evening was: “Steel: When Will We Decarbonize?”
An evening rich in discussion, featuring high-caliber speakers and participants from a wide range of backgrounds: businesses, think tanks, nonprofit organizations, students, entrepreneurs… A strong indication that decarbonization is a concern that engages all stakeholders.
💡 The event also gave CTO the opportunity to present its first report on the decarbonization of steel, through an inspiring keynote speech delivered by our director, Julien Armijo.
🙏 We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our speakers for their insights:
– Cédric PHILIBERT, associate researcher at the Energy & Climate Center ofIfri (French Institute of International Relations) and author of *Climate: Energies of Hope*
– Bruno Jacquemin, Executive Director of A3M—Alliance for Ores, Minerals, and Metals
– Jean-Pierre BIRAT, steel expert and former coordinator of the European ULCOS program
– Chloé Barré, Data & Policy Analyst at Sandbag
– Pierre Jeremie, Investment Director at Hy24
👏 A big thank you also to Malena Reali, president and co-founder of the ETYC (Energy Transition Youth Club), for moderating the panel discussion: “Will EU policies make it possible to decarbonize steel?”
🚀 And this is just the beginning: we’re already planning upcoming events and working out the membership details for those who want to join the adventure.
